Nearly 15 years ago an online portal for citizens was established. At first it comprised only of information, but since 2006 started providing services as well. However, the rapid development of technology and other sciences in the area of the state portal’s business operation has, in recent years, overtaken the portal by a mile. Therefore, a general overhaul was vital. The start of the portal renovation began in October 2013 and was concluded November 2015.
When renovating the portal, long-standing experience of end users and operators of back-end systems, with which the portal was connected, was taken into account. At the heart of the renovation were the user’s needs and preferences on how to do business with the state. The cohesive thread of the renovation was to make the portal appealing to the eye, easy to use, as well as, credible and useful, i.e. a portal the users will happily visit again and again.
