Skrinja (Chest) is a business intelligence and data warehouse system developed and managed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Users can interactively view and process data in real time with powerful visualisations. This way, data can be used to influence better use of existing staff, better planning and decision-making in the long term. It is designed as a horizontal service for users of the civil service. It includes public sector salaries (over 2000 budget users with over 750 types of payments), public procurement data (over 11% of GDP) and common system code lists.
The connection of administrative procedures and 12 new data sources from different public authorities is in preparation, as the interest in analytical decision support among public authorities is high. A mobile Chest is also operational and an online Public Procurement Chest will be available shortly. We are developing predictive analytics as a basis for algorithmic processing.
The Chest system has been awarded several times (in 2020 - the e-Service of Public Administration award of the Slovenian Society of Informatics and in 2022 a finalist of Moving Forward for the best improvement in public administration of the UL Faculty of Administration.
